Swine flu

After hearing about this over and over again in the past few days, I feel like I am actually starting to panic a little.  The alert level is now a level 5 and I am taking every precaution to keep my family safe.  I think the weather is planning on being yucky all the rest of the week, so we are staying indoors!  I guess I will do my grocery shopping in the evenings when Clint gets home so I don't have to take Lilly.

For all you mommies out there here are some things I have heard to do to keep our little ones safe....
-Wipe down your grocery carts and use a seat protector if you have one.
-Wipe their hands down with antibacterial gel or hot soap and water every few hours, especially before they eat.
-Change their clothes as soon as you get home from a public place where the virus could be found.

I know this might seem a little crazy, but I am going to do all of these things if I leave the house.  I just don't want to risk it.  I have also decided that I myself am not going to go to the gym until this has calmed down.  That just seems like the worst possible place to be during all of this.  I keep hearing that this is similar to the bird flu, but honestly, I don't remember even hearing that much about that.  Maybe I was in college and had other things on my mind, who knows!
Tonight I will be praying for everyone's health and safety and for the people who have been affected by this.  If you are praying tonight, please say one special prayer for me....My younger sister is studying abroad in a small town in Mexico.  Her University advised every one in her program to return to the states but she and her roommate have decided to stay there.  They figured that it is more dangerous to be on a bus and a plane than it would be to stay in their remote little city.  Please keep them in your prayers tonight and until this passes.

UPDATE 5/1:  Emma's school has officially closed.  They are canceling the rest of the semester and she and her roommate are headed home on Monday.  Now we just need to pray for a safe return and that she will get her credit for the courses she took.
