Another pictureless post...

I know, how awful and so unlike me! It is only Tuesday but this week has been nuts. We have finally picked a granite and a backsplash, finally. Who knew how difficult it would be. We have decided on Tropical brown for granite (thanks Ashlee, you confirmed that it was perfect) and a tumbled travertine 4 inch tile backsplash. We are doing it pretty simple because our kitchen is fairly small. Our cabinets will be an antique white with bronzish hardware. Our floors are a scraped bamboo. They start the floors, which is the biggest deal on March 2.
Anyways....now that that's out of the way on to more exciting stuff. Tomorrow we leave for sunny (hopefully, i've heard otherwise) Florida! Cody is getting married to precious Penny and we can't wait to get away without Lilly. Cody is Clint's brother and we couldn't be happier for them!! We get back Saturday so don't be expecting posts. I booked my flight out of OKC so that I could bring Lilly to stay with her grandparents and since we are having all this work done on our house right after we get back I will be staying here for a while. Probably two or three weeks!! Long time....especially without my sister here. The second I walked in I felt like something was missing and Lilly was saying "Emmm-maaaaa" over and over. It will definitely be strange being home without her.
So be expecting some posts but probably not too many with pics! On another note, sweet baby Cora's family is updating their profile a lot more now and her mother is making several dresses and fun items for her etsy store she wants to start. I will post a link to it when it gets up and hopefully mine will be up someday too!

Playdate fun!

Today Lilly and I went over to Ashlee and Reese's house for a fun playdate!  Sarah and Ryder man came too!  I have no pics ( I know, surprise) but it was so much fun.  Lilly was sort of having a rough day, who knows what her deal was but basically I left their house covered in peanut butter and looking pretty rough.....all because Miss Lilly would NOT let me put her down!  I held her the whole three or four hours we were there basically!   Nevertheless, it was so fun and thank you Ashlee and Reese for such a fun day.  We love hanging out with you guys and are so glad we have such good friends so close!  We decided to start planning playdates hopefully once a month, yeah!  Sometimes I think they are better for the mommies than the babies!  Hopefully I will get some pics from someone's other camera because Lilly, Reese, and Ryder are just precious!!

uhhh....

It is 5:30 pm....Lilly has been up since 8 am....no nap....seriously???  Am I being punished for something????
She slept for 5 minutes in the car on the way home from the store and that's it!!  I bet it was more like 2 or 3 minutes actually.  Mommy needs a break....and vino!!!

Salma Hayek

OK, I have heard on just about every single TV channel about Salma Hayek breastfeeding a child that was not hers.  Apparently the child's mother stopped producing milk and this little one was starving.  Salma, being the mother that she is, decided to nurse him.
I really don't understand what all the fuss is about.  I have seen it on The View, Fox, E!, everything!!  Wouldn't we be more concerned if she just chose not to feed this starving baby?  I think any mother would feed any starving baby no matter what the means, am I right?  Yes, it is a little disturbing I suppose if you think about it too much, but seriously, she was just doing what she thought was the right thing.  With all the crazy things happening in the world this is what we're talking about.....

The joys of house renovations!!

This afternoon we are having our entire outside of the house painted.  Shutters, front door, everything.  It is going to look so great and it is just the start of our renovations.  The painters had to take down our front door and Lilly was just going crazy trying to escape, so I threw this hat on her (which is a 6-12 month...little small) and we headed outside.  We played around, took our baby for a walk, and even pulled out a fun walker that makes music to play with.  My parents dog that we are dogsitting while they are in Mexico even came out too.  I think I got a sunburn it is so nice here today!!
Here's Lilly about to start walking Lucy.  She loooooooves that monkey!!!!
Trusty walker!

Everything looks different tonight....

The sky looks brighter, bluer.
My living room normal toy clutter doesn't bother me.
My home feels warmer, cozier.
My precious Lilly seems more beautiful and wonderful than ever before...
The time we have is a gift.
If you have kids, take the time to be with them.
Let them carry their blankie everywhere if it makes them happy...
Remind them every day how precious they are to you.
Hug them and kiss them until they can't stand it anymore.
This was my "thoughtful Tuesday" I suppose.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I need to ramble.....

I'm writing this post and am not my usual self tonight.  This whole thing with this precious baby girl is tugging at my heart so much.  I have been thinking about her family all day and praying that they take the time to grieve.
I can't help but wonder why?  Why does God take some precious little ones out of this world so early?  I know he needs them and there is a reason for everything, but why?  I saw a quote today and this is not exact but it was something along the lines of "God, I wanted to teach my baby about you when she grew up, but since you have her now will you teach her about me?"  This really touched me.  I looked at the family's blog again today and am so amazed at how the words they posted were so eloquent and thought provoking.  I am so amazed at their strength through this trying time.  I know if it were me there would be no more posts....
I suppose I just need to ramble.  Today it was gloomy and rainy and Lilly and I stayed inside all day and played.  We had so much fun but my thoughts and emotions were bouncing all over the place, and I am having these emotions as an outsider!  How can this family, who I just happen to come across on a whim, touch me like this?  Maybe it is their faith that amazes me, I don't know.
I am so grateful for my Lilly.  I love her more than life itself and I am just heartbroken tonight for them because i'm sure their love for their little one was the same.  I am so moved by the way this story has touched so many, but at this cost?  This is crushing...no child should ever go before their parent.  I suppose God has a plan for everyone and everything.  We are all here on this earth to eventually get up there so maybe we will know why things like this happen someday.
Please keep praying for this family.  This must be the darkest hour of their lives....

Sad....

Last week while Lilly was napping I was bored and did a little blogging.  I came across one family's blog that really made my heart hurt.  This family was blessed with a precious little girl who was getting constant ear infections.  They took her to the doctor and found she had stage 4 cancer that had spread throughout her body.  She was 10 months old.  I have been following this family that I have never met and saw today that sweet baby Cora had passed on.  I have been so sad for them but so happy that little Cora no longer has any pain and is resting peacefully.
Being a mother you have a love for your child that is so powerful and so unconditional, it sometimes can be overwhelming but it is the greatest gift anyone could ever be blessed with.  I look at Lilly and how she is growing and my heart is definitely hurting tonight for this family.  I ask that every one pray for Cora's family as they go through what must be the most challenging time of their lives.  The blog is www.themcclenahans.blogspot.com.  I encourage everyone to look at their blog because they are stronger than I could ever be.  Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.....

Big girl!!

Lilly will not eat now unless she has a spoon or a fork.  She is doing so well!!!  If i'm trying to cook dinner or something in the kitchen i'll give her a little applesauce or pudding and she will sit forever working on it with her new utensils!

These boots are made for walking!

Lilly's Pixi got her these adorable ladybug boots for her first birthday.  When she got them I could not get her fat little feet in them for the life of me but we were cleaning out her closet today and we decided to try them again.  The second I put them on she loved them!  I bought her this outfit to wear with them and took the tags off right there and put it on her, too cute!!  I think i'll put it on her tomorrow when we go grocery shopping.  Too precious!!!  I love her so.

Lilly used to hate grass, but in her boots she can do anything!!
"Mommy these boots are too cool!!!"

Cheesing it up as usual.

Fun times!

This past weekend Clint and I were up in OK so we decided to go out both Friday and Saturday, which we never do because we are old people now.  Friday we met up with some old friends including these lovely ladies!
Emma and I do these scenarios....anyways.....this one is me calling Clint saying im pregnant with triplets!
This is Emma telling me she's pregnant and unmarried....what was with the pregnant ones?????  My face says it all!

The kitty returns.....

So we thought we had seen the cat ears best days....oh no, they're back.  Lilly loves those cat ears and she loves her "nitty", or so she calls it.  I love her big happy face here!

Lilly's new overalls

Lilly's Pixi made her these ADORABLE overalls!  She has been working on them for forever it seems like and she made them entirely by hand.  They are so sweet and we have received so many compliments on how cute she looks.  I'm going to have to take some better pics of her (she won't stay still for two seconds and it's so hard to catch her smiling) so maybe we will go outside this weekend and snap away.  Thank you Pixi, i'm the most stylish toddler around! XOXO

Beautiful princess!

Just look at our sweet Lilly girl.  Clint snapped this on his iphone right when she put it on.  Such a princess baby....my heart just fills with love!
