Show us your nurseries Friday!!!

Lilly's baby nursery could possibly be my favorite room in the house.  When Kelly said that today would be "Show us your nurseries" I just had to post pics!  It is so girly and special, it is exactly what I dreamt my little girls nursery would look like.  I got the inspiration for the walls from a pottery barn catalog an my mom made all the bedding and curtains.  Clint spent hours and days doing the painting too so I feel like when Lilly came this room already had so much love in it for our little one!  Here is a pic of the nursery right after we got the bedding in it.  It was so beautiful with toile, leopard, polka dots, and gingham.  Lots of bows too!
Close up.....is that not dreamy????  This was at my Edmond shower when I saw it for the first time.
This is Lilly's nursery today, now the bedding is a little roughed up in the front and or course, the crib tent, which Houdini can now unzip!
I loved her glider and all the time we spent in it.  My Aunt Krissy made the little blankie on the back and the pillow and sham are for her big girl bed!  Just a sneak peek, more to come!  She loves that bunny and pink scottie too.
My mom got this for Lilly in Paris a long time ago.  She must have known she would have a grand daughter.  It's actually a laundry bag that we framed and put the leopard around it.
The messy bookcase!!!!  I know I probably should have straightened it up for pics, but oh well right!  You can see her little Burberry baby book, the sign from her Granny Pat, and next to the stereo are these cute french wall plaques for her big girl room.  Also her pink flip flops that she is scared of and insists on keeping there instead of her closet.  Kids are so crazy....
We hung up these pics around 6 months and Lilly loved to look up and see them.  We changed out the middle one with a pic from her first birthday party but I loved the others too much to switch.  We don't even use the table or diaper genie anymore.  She's just too big!

So those are a few pics!  I feel like these may be the last because her big girl room is underway.  So actually, i'm so happy Kelly did this so I can tuck these pics away and always remember how much I loved this room.

Simply adorable

This is BY FAR my favorite thing I have made yet!  Would you look at my precious Lilly girl in this little ensemble?  I'm calling this a tutu twirl set because the skirt is so full, almost like a tutu and Lilly just loved twirling around in it.
I used Amy Butler prints, which I adore, and did a matching top.  So cute!  I made one for Lilly and I am in the process of making a matching one for her cousin, Jane, for her 2nd birthday.....better late than never!
I also made the matching hair clippy.  Worked perfect!

Bad blogger.....long post, get ready!

I am officially a bad blogger.  I feel like sometimes I am really into the blog world and other days, eh, so so.  We have had quite a busy couple of weeks!  Last weekend we drove up to OK for a wedding on the 16th and I was planning on staying up there for the rest of the week with Lilly.  Clint was going to come back home for work on Sunday and then come back for our trip to the Grand Lake on Thursday.  The wedding was too much fun, I got to see some old friends from college and overall it was just a happy day!  Here we are looking all pretty for the wedding.

After recovering from that weekend, Clint and I then headed up to Grove, OK to meet Sarah and Austin and their fam for a fun filled weekend.  We had a blast!  The weather turned out to be pretty good and we cruised on the boat, drank a lot, ate alot, and I even tubed.  I know....I won't even walk in the grass barefoot, but believe it or not I did pretty good!  I am still feeling the pain though!  Here's some pics from Memorial day....

After that much needed little vacay we picked up Lilly at Pixi's house and headed back to Dallas where I need to do some serious detoxing/dieting.  So fun though!  In other news, our family cat, Beau, has ran away we think.  He is declawed and didn't have a collar on and would go out on the porch with us and not go far.  He has been missing for almost two weeks now, very sad.
In Lilly news she has had her own little issues.  She broke out in a little rash on her back, which I thought was a heat rash, well its allergies AGAIN!!!  This poor baby!!  Neither Clint nor I have allergies and she is just a mess.  The doc thinks that she may just have minor allergies but this season has been so hard on everyone that she is just handling it differently.  Her little eyes are puffy and now i'm pumping her with benadryl so she is sleepy and fussy.  We also had to temporarily change our detergent, fabric softener, and soap.  Hopefully this will clear up soon......

I feel like this little angel face is growing up way too fast!  It seems like every day she is doing something and saying something new.  She copies everything and wants to be just like her mommy, which melts my heart.  She loves jewelry, makeup, shoes, bows....all the girly little things!  She is also very into dancing and has a ton of moves, I can't wait to get her into dance classes when she is two.

Lilly girl is also so smart.....it seriously boggles my mind how smart this kiddo is.  She knows colors, blue being her fav.  She can count to three.  She is starting to put words together to make short sentences and is so good with her please and thank you.  Her biggest thing that blows my mind at the moment is what she does with her foam bathtub letters.  You can pour them all into the tub and ask her where is grandpa, she finds the G, where is Ryder, she finds the R, where is kitty, she finds the K, where is Emma, she finds the E.....she does this with like 10 letters!  Tonight I showed her the L and I said "L for Lilly" and a few minutes later she picked it up and said "MEEEE!"  I will have to put a video up of it, it's amazing!  She is precious to me and Clint, even through all the tantrums (we are getting close to the terrible twos) but everyday is so much fun to see the world through her eyes.

It's a hit!

The outfit turned out just precious on Lilly girl!  I love this outfit so much, I wish she could wear it every day!  The skirt looked great on and I did some fabric on the shirt that I thought turned out pretty cute too!  Many more to come and hopefully sell....once I figure out how to get a faster method down!

Something new!

For the past two evenings I have been working on this little skirt.  I have a pattern and it looked fairly simple, but oh lord it took FOREVER!  Since this was my first one to make, it could use a little more attention to detail and perfection, I was just giving it a shot with some scrap fabric.  I would not have used the white thread and the directions were a little unclear, so now I know where to make my own changes.  I think it turned out pretty cute though!  It's very fluffy and full almost like a tutu.  I figured Lilly girl could wear it this weekend to a party we are going to, afterall she is the best model.  I am making her a little tank to go with it with some fabric appliques on it.  Have to do that today, and possibly a bow.  Check back for pics of her in it!
I am not super crazy about this fabric all together but it is just what I had handy.  I just ordered a ton of Amy Butler and Michael Miller fabrics though, sooooooo stinking cute!!!!

Oh the ears!!!

Poor Lilly girl has another ear infection!  I just took her in because she has been so fussy, not eating much, and very snotty and sneezy.  I feel so badly for her!  All she wants is her paddy, blankie, and lots of hugs from mommy and daddy.  I didn't realize how many she has had over the past 6 months but it has been about 5 or 6.  My pediatrician only has record of three but I have taken her to urgent care places here and in OK where she was diagnosed with them too.  Soooo......next step, find out exactly how many she has had and possibly put tubes in.  I suffered from awful ear infections as a kid and they say it may be hereditary.  My heart is just aching, they would have to put her under, which is scary, but I know we have to do what is best for her.  Keep her in your thoughts please.

On another note, my talented cousin Jason has started a website and it is hysterical!  The site is www.meanbabies.com.   It's basically a little cutest site where you can send pics of your babies hitting you and stuff.  So far it has just been me sending them but it won't be long before it becomes popular i'm sure.  It's too funny so all of you with kiddos check it out!

Last night I cooked dinner and Clint surprised me and rented Bride Wars.  I never get to watch movies like that because he usually does the renting but I was so excited.  I would give it just an OK.  Some parts were really corny but some parts totally made me cry.  I miss working with my brides so much!  I loved Stanley Korshak and I wish I could still do wedding stuff, it's just not the right time.  I would say it's a fun renter with your girlfriends, hubbies aren't that impressed!

20/20

I don't know if anyone happened to catch 20/20 last night but I certainly did not miss it.  It was about a guy named Bart who set up a plan to have his friend murder his mom, dad, and younger brother.  This guy is a creepy, creepy guy and i'm convinced he is a psychopath.  He devised this plan to happen when his family returned home from dinner one evening.  Bart stayed at his car and pretended to look for his cell phone while his family went in through the front door where a gunman was waiting.  He shot his brother and mother and killed both, shot his father in the arm, then Bart ran after the guy and had him shoot him in the arm as well.  His father ended up surviving along with Bart.  It wasn't long after Bart became a suspect and fled to Mexico where he was eventually caught.  He is now on death row in Huntsville and his father still lives in the same house in Houston.
You may be wondering why I am talking about this, well, Bart and his family were my neighbors in Sugarland, TX.  He was two years older than I was and we were pretty close friends, always rollerblading and playing with the other neighbors in our kul de sac.  His family seemed perfect, his mother was so sweet, cute little brother, nice father, black lab, big house....the whole bit.  Not only was Bart my friend, but also my first kiss (soooo creepy).  At the time he was a super cute, friendly guy and kind of a prankster who loved to tease me and my sister.  I would have never in a MILLION years would have pictured this perfect kid doing this.  He was a private school kid, church going, polo wearing, nice boy!  I can't help but feel lucky that we moved away and I never had a relationship with him after that.
My heart still breaks for his father.  After watching 20/20 last night Bart seemed so cold, showing no remorse, and he looked just scary.  Oprah has done a special on him as well as 48 hours mystery.  Hopefully this will be the last we hear of him because it just makes me sick to my stomach.  I suppose I just needed to vent....
If you are interested in watching it I think it may be online on the 20/20 Website.

Mother's day is just around the corner!

Hint hint, Clint.....

Here's what the mother of your beautiful baby girl would like to have!

I would love the 18 inch chain that the lovely "L" charm comes on!!  When we have more babies I can add to it too with their initials.  I mean, all the celeb moms are wearing this designers alphabet charm necklace, so I should be too, right?
I have no preference, white gold or yellow gold (just not silver).  I would absolutely love both!
For all you other mommies who would love this necklace, go to www.helenficalora.com.  You can't buy them on the Website but you can call and order them or buy them through other vendors if you google her.  They aren't too expensive either and the chain is very pretty and dainty!
