Miss Lucy Belle

Lilly got quite the surprise this past weekend.  Her grandpa did it again!  He got her a new, sweet (and rather frisky) little Westie pup!
That Grandpa....he always knows how to make his little princess feel like the only girl in the world!  She's just a tad bit obsessed with the man, and now her new puppy, Lucy Belle.
YAY!!
My girls.  We have our hands full with this little one....wow....small package, biiiiig personality.  Typical terrier!
Have I mentioned how thankful I am for this man?  He went with me to put Dottie down, and we were both screaming, crying messes.  I'll always love him for doing that with me....it wasn't the best way to start off your weekend.  Then he came to my parents to surprise Lilly!  What a guy!
To celebrate our little puppy we had king crab, one of our household favorites.  Lilly loves the smell obviously.
Then we made cookies with Pixi, something they always do.  Mom found these cute Scottie cookie cutters, so we dedicated all our cookies to our sweet little angel puppy.
Then we got another surprise....
SNOW!!  Totally unprepared on the clothes front, but oh well!
Sweet snow bunnies. Not used to a little white puff in the snow, she was hard to see!
She is soooooo cute!!  She is definitely different than Dottie.  Dottie was a lover, and a snuggler, this one....not so much.  Maybe it's a puppy thing, but she is one wild and crazy girl.  She actually reminds me of our first Scottie we had, Fergie.  Alllllll over the place, allllll the time.  Tony has really taken to her as well, they wrestle all the time.  So we're happy!
She will never, ever replace our Dottie Sue, and Lilly knows that.  However, I think it was best for Lilly to get a new pup soon.  Putting Dottie down was one of the most horrific days ever.  She was so snuggly and I think she knew was was happening.  As soon as they put the first medication into her IV I started screaming NOOOOOOO!!!!  That's when David and I really broke down.  I just wasn't sure I was ready and I just lost it.  She fell peacefully down on her side and I just held my sweet puppy.  Goodness, I'm starting to cry just thinking about it.  I've never witnessed something dying, and it was definitely tough.  I know she is in now pain free though, which helps.  She signified so much to me and Lilly and we miss her so much and her sweet spirit will never  be replaced.
We can't help but smile now with Miss "Bellie Bear" joining our perfect, little family :)
