So I put Lilly to bed this evening and she said the sweetest, most precious thing ever. I just had to write it down so I wouldn't forget. We went to the zoo today and we were talking about this precious baby monkey that was hanging on it's mommy's back. One thing led to another and here's the way our convo went.
Lilly: Mommy, how did that baby monkey get on it's mommy?
Me: Well, God must have given that baby to it's mommy.
Lilly: I love God. He lives with Gadue and Poppy. He keeps me safe.
Me: That's right baby. He loves you soooo very much!
Lilly: Did He put me in your tummy?
Me: Yes, He sure did! You grew inside mommy and you kicked and kicked and grew and grew until it was finally time for you to come out!
Lilly: Mommy, have you met God before?
Me: Wellllll.....no I haven't yet. Mommy talks to God, but I haven't met him yet.
Lilly: I have.
Me: Oh you have? When?
Lilly: I met him in heaven.
Me: Oh......
Lilly: I met him when he sent me to be your baby.
Tear, tear. Oh my goodness. He certainly did send you to me sweet baby. My heart just about melted and I just couldn't believe that I was looking at this precious little one who is growing into such a sweet young lady. I just felt so happy in that moment. I just pray that I never forget that moment with her. She was so sweet in her little jammies, holding Baby Dear and snuggled up in my arms. I cherish those times with my girl and tonight just made me thank my lucky stars. I have this beautiful, healthy little angel who makes me smile every day. Life is good. God is good. No matter what happens today and no matter what has happened in the past, Lilly is the one who keeps my grounded and fills my heart with love and joy everyday. Sometimes life is hard, then in an instant everything seems so perfect, so clear. Thank you, sweet baby bunny, for your little comments that make everything right.
