This morning my mom called me and told me my dad was having emergency heart surgery. I guess he has been having shortness of breath and was doing some tests recently, when they found out that his main valve was 85% blocked. Our neighbor, who happens to be his cardiologist, convinced him to go in this am for an angioplasty. He's going to be fine and is in recovery, but his doctor said that he was very likely to have had a massive heart attack very soon and he probably wouldn't have made it.
Obviously, this is very upsetting and tears at my heart. I just saw my dad on Sunday so I just feel beyond grateful that they did this surgery when they did. Please pray for a speedy recovery and that he doesn't have any more problems.
